Bad news for the people that use to work at the Ford Motor plant in South Atlanta.

It was a dark and rainy morning when the last Taurus rolled off the Ford assembly line in Hapeville Friday, effectively ending 1,950 jobs at the plant, which has been in continuous operation for more than half a century.

The Atlanta assembly plant had been producing cars since 1947 and in the last five years it was ranked as one of the top 10 most productive assembly lines in North America. Read On

Some 2000 employees will be out of work. Most of the employees had an option of choosing 1 to 8 different severance packages. One lucky man decided to play the lottery before coming into his last day of work. He won $225,000 from a $5 scratch off.
